Adding a new product
A product is everything that can be bought, sold, produced, and stored. It can be a physical or digital thing or it is a service.
The Catalog section contains all the necessary information about the products that have been added to the system.
When we want to add a new product, we need to go to the Products section and click the Add button. A new window opens where we will enter all the general information about the product we are creating. It is necessary to enter the Product Name and Code (code and URL system is assigned automatically, for each product unique), then it is necessary to enter the Price without tax, Tax rate, and Manufacturer. After that, it is necessary to enter information related to the delivery and transport of the product itself, which is to add all Delivery Types that we can apply to this product, Unit of Measure, Default Unit of Dimension, Default Unit of Weight, Default Length, Height, Width and Default weight. It is desirable to enter both a Meta description and a Meta title (allows users to suggest how they would like the product to be described in the search lists), but these fields are optional. Once we have entered all the basic data, the system will allow us to create a product.
For each product after we create it, we get the opportunity to enter additional information in order to describe the product in as much detail as possible and facilitate its further tracking.
This additional information is:
* The Product Description subsection is used to enter the complete product description and all details.
* The Marketing subsection may contain text and/or an image related to some information about the company that we would like to highlight, such as free delivery, delivery time, warranty, etc., is displayed in the form of text or banners.
* The SKU subsection gives us the opportunity to enter all the options that this product has. We can see an overview of all SKUs that were created as a combination of different options for this product. By clicking on the SKU itself, we can see the details related to that SKU as well as whether a norm has been created for it (if the SKU is produced). We can also enter images for this product within the SKU. We can enter multiple images, but we need to specify one to be the main image of that product (this image will be displayed first on the site when searching for that product).
* The Transaction subsection gives us a detailed view of all inventory changes that have ever occurred for that product. By transactions, we can see when a product was purchased or produced, by which order, for which order, when it was sold, etc.
* Subsection Special price tells us whether a certain SKU is at a discount and if so when the action starts and lasts.
* The Inventory subsection gives us the opportunity to activate and deactivate a product, to define whether it is possible to deliver the product by courier service, whether one person is enough for this delivery, whether the product needs to be produced or is a component.
* The Suppliers subsection gives us the opportunity to connect the product with all suppliers from which we procure it. We can choose one supplier as the default.
* The Production subsection shows us what all the production processes are needed to make that product.
* The Group and Category subsection gives us the ability to add all the groups and categories to which it belongs to the product.
